Random Pics...And The End

By March 13th I was home. On the 16th it was the same case for Olivier. It was a once in a lifetime experience with plenty of memories enjoy for years to come.

The Last Meal...

Everyone from the office came out for the last meal that us MAS interns had in Istanbul together. There was a lot of good alcohol and good food that night...

Top View From Taksim

This area is the main place where people hang out in Istanbul. If you are planning on going out on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tues...etc. this is where you probably will end up at some point. There are plenty of stores, bars, clubs and tourist attractions. There is also a SF cable car style trolley that goes right through the center of the action.

The Meal Ticket & Pol Center

This is the card we used to eat everyday at lunch. The legendary 'Pol Center' (never understood the name) was where we got the Turkish mess hall style grub that kept us going. It was kind of like a strip mall with about 3 or 4 stores and then a food court...

Zeynep's Bday circa March 7, 2009 (exactly 1 week b4 mine)

Zeynep beat me to my 30th Bday...that night I was humbled by the Alcohol. Turkish Raki, Efes beer, random shots and 4 other mixed drinks didn't do well by me that night.

Last Day @ The Office...

A couple shots from the last day at the office. At the top you can see the result of the many thousands of chestnuts I shared with Firat (not pictured). The guy that sells them looks like Magnum P.I., but he was cooler. Olivier is showing our associates some of the photos we took along the way during the past 2 1/2 months.

Some Stuff You've Never Heard Of...But Nice

Turkish candy is mostly produced by 1 brand... "ülker"...most of them are chocolates or crispy wafers and are not too sweet like candy in the US.
